The EKO Acropolis Rally 2026 is set to open a new chapter in its long and celebrated history, bringing the excitement of the FIA World Rally Championship closer to the heart of Athens than ever before. This year’s event will officially begin on 25 June with a spectacular super special stage at The Ellinikon Sports Park, marking a bold and modern start for one of the WRC’s most iconic rallies.
The 1.86-kilometre asphalt stage will feature a head-to-head format, with two rally cars racing side by side in front of thousands of spectators. Designed to deliver intense action and a unique visual experience, the stage is expected to create an electrifying atmosphere for fans, while free public access will allow even more people to witness the opening spectacle of the “Rally of the Gods.”
The choice of The Ellinikon is highly symbolic. As Europe’s largest urban regeneration project, the new development represents the future of Athens, combining innovation, sport, and entertainment in a landmark destination. The Acropolis Rally super special will also become the first major sporting event hosted at the new sports park, further highlighting the significance of the occasion.
At the same time, the rally itself is entering a new era geographically. After five years in Lamia, the service park will move to Loutraki, while the route will expand across Attica, the Peloponnese, and Central Greece. Historic stages such as Arkadia are set to return, alongside revised and demanding gravel routes that will once again challenge both drivers and machines on Greece’s legendary rough terrain.
The EKO Acropolis Rally 2026 will take place from 25 to 28 June and will serve as the eighth round of the FIA World Rally Championship season, bringing the world’s best rally drivers and teams back to Greece for another unforgettable battle on the country’s iconic roads.
