At the end of Saturday morning, Elfyn Evans remains the rally leader in Japan with Oliver Solberg and Sebastien Ogier following him.
Elfyn Evans keeps the first place on the overall classification and manages his lead as he is 10,6 seconds ahead of the second Oliver Solberg. The Welshman set the fastest time in Stage 8, but Solberg was able to cut his teammate's lead by being the quickest driver in Stage 7 and 9.
Sebastien Ogier is still third overall and is 9,5 seconds behind Solberg with three stages remaining until the end of Saturday.
Sami Pajari remains in fourth position overall and was the fifth-fastest driver in all the stages of Saturday morning.
Takamoto Katsuta does the 1-2-3-4-5 for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT as he stole the fifth place from Thierry Neuville for 1,3 seconds at the end of Stage 7.
Adrien Fourmaux moved ahead of the seventh Thierry Neuville at the end of Stage 9 as the last one suffered from handbrake issues there.
Hayden Paddon and Jon Armstrong complete the top 9 with the Irishman touching a bank in Stage 9 and escaping any car damage.
Josh McErlean had no handbrake since Stage 7 and is 12th overall.
