At the end of Friday morning, Sebastien Ogier is the new leader of Rally Finland with Adrien Fourmaux and Sami Pajari following him.
Sebastien Ogier stole the lead of Adrien Fourmaux at the end of Stage 2 and was the fastest driver in SS2, SS4 and SS5. In fact, he gained two positions in Stage 2 passing Fourmaux and Thierry Neuville on the classification.
Adrien Fourmaux dropped from first to second overall and is 5,3 seconds behind the first Ogier with five stages remaining until the end of the day.
Sami Pajari moved up from seventh to third after the end of Stage 3 by setting the fastest time there while he passed Fourmaux for the second position on the classification after SS4 and their gap was at three tenths of a second in favor of Pajari. However, the Finn slipped behind Fourmaux after the end of SS5 for 2,7 seconds.
Oliver Solberg is in fourth position overall after Stage 5 by claiming two places on the final stage of Friday morning and is just 2,3 seconds ahead of the fifth Elfyn Evans who was opening the roads this morning.
Evans was very lucky in Stage 5 as he went wide into the bushes in the middle of SS5 and was fifth overall since the end of Stage 4.
Takamoto Katsuta follows his teammate for 13,3 seconds as the Japanese star was not able to match Evans's pace due to oversteer and understeer.
Martins Sesks is the highest-placed driver for M-Sport Ford as he sits in seventh position overall.
Josh McErlean completes the top eight and stayed out of trouble during the first loop of Friday.
Thierry Neuville dropped from fourth to 12th as he lost more than one minute in Stage 5 after hitting a bank outside over a crest and breaking the front left wheel. In fact, he lost the rear of his i20N Rally1 twice before his spin.
Esapekka Lappi was in fifth place overall after the end of Stage 3, but he was forced to retire after his rolling his Hyundai i20N Rally1 just 800 meters into SS4.
Jon Armstrong went off road in Stage 3 and his Puma was stuck into a ditch after his having lost the rear of his Ford Puma Rally1 and hitting a bank. <
