Rally Finland - 2nd Day - 2nd Loop: Ogier distances his rivals on rainy conditions as Fourmaux slips behind three Toyotas

At the end of Friday, Sebastien Ogier remains the rally leader in Finland with Elfyn Evans and Sami Pajari following him.

Sebastien Ogier heads the 1-2-3-4 for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT and managed to increase his lead over his rivals to 16,3 seconds despite the fact that he did not set the fastest time in any stages this afternoon. However, it must be mentioned that Ogier was very lucky in Stage 8 as he had a big slide and the rear went deep into the ditch. 

Elfyn Evans moved up from fifth to third overall after the end of Stage 7 as he was the fastest driver there while he gained one more place after Stage 8 and is now second overall despite the fact that he was starting first on the road today.

Sami Pajari stole the second place from Adrien Fourmaux at the end of Stage 6 and was ahead of the Hyundai driver for four tenths of a second. However, the local hero slipped behind the second Evans at the end of Stage 8 for 7,4 seconds while it must be mentioned that he set the pace in Stage 6.

Oliver Solberg slipped behind the fourth Takamoto Katsuta after the end of Stage 7, but he managed to reclaim the fourth position as he was the fastest driver in Stage 8.

Martins Sesks put M-Sport Ford at the top five as the Latvian was the second-fastest driver and was beaten for 2,1 seconds by Solberg in Stage 8.

Adrien Fourmaux lost his second place over Pajari in Stage 6 while he dropped from third to seventh after Stage 7 due to the rain. However, he was the fastest driver in Stage 9 and finished the second day of Rally Finland at sixth position being the top driver for Hyundai Motorsport.

Josh McErlean sits in seventh position overall since the end of Stage 8 and took advantage over Takamoto Katsuta's problems who lost four places in SS8 and is now eighth overall.

The Japanese star managed to gain two places in Stage 7 and to be at the top four, but he dropped to eighth as the windshield was completely fogged during SS8.

Thierry Neuville completes the top nine and received a twenty-second time penalty on Friday afternoon while he and Katsuta set the fastest time in Stage 10.
