BBC secures three-year deal to broadcast the FIA World Rally Championship

The BBC has secured a new three-year agreement to broadcast the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) across the United Kingdom from 2027 to 2029.

The deal will bring live coverage of every WRC round to British audiences, including selected live stages and the decisive Wolf Power Stage. Fans will also be able to enjoy 60-minute highlights programmes from every round, along with digital clips, highlights and additional content across BBC platforms.

A major highlight of the agreement will be the return of Rally Scotland to the WRC calendar in 2027. The Aberdeenshire-based event will mark the first time the United Kingdom has hosted a round of the World Rally Championship since 2019. The BBC will provide extensive live coverage throughout all four days of competition.

The coverage will be delivered through a collaboration between BBC Scotland, BBC Cymru Wales and BBC Northern Ireland, bringing together talent and resources from across the BBC Nations.

The agreement represents an important step in expanding the WRC's visibility in the UK and making the championship more accessible to a wider audience. With the return of Rally Scotland and free-to-air coverage on the BBC, 2027 is set to be a significant year for rallying in Britain.

The 2027 WRC calendar is expected to be announced in the near future.
