Rally Sardinia - 2nd Day - 2nd Loop: Neuville steals Fourmaux's lead for 0,4s on the final stage as Pajari slips behind Ogier

At the end of Friday afternoon, Thierry Neuville leads now Rally Sardinia with Adrien Fourmaux and Oliver Solberg following him.

Thierry Neuville moved ahead of Adrien Fourmaux for four tenths of a second at the end of Stage 7 as the Belgian attacked on the final two Friday stages by setting the pace in Stages 6 and 7.

Only four tenths of a second separate Adrien Fourmaux from his teammate. The Frenchman doubled his lead to 8,2 seconds as he was fastest driver in Stage 5, but Neuville responded back. In fact, Neuville was just 4,7 seconds behind the first Fourmaux after SS6 while he gained one position by setting an unreal time in SS7.

Oliver Solberg is the highest-placed driver for Toyota as he remains third overall while he was the only Rally1 driver who was the closest one to Neuville's time in SS7.

Sebastien Ogier was in fifth position behind the fourth Sami Pajari for 7,4 seconds at the end of Stage 6, but he managed to pass Pajari on the final stage of Friday for 2,8 seconds.

Sami Pajari slipped behind Ogier at fifth position after the end of Stage 7 as he was not able to find an answer to Ogier's pace.

Elfyn Evans holds the sixth position and was struggling with the rear of his Yaris on the ruts, but his place is under threat by the seventh Josh McErlean as their gap is at 12,2 seconds. Moreover, it must be mentioned that there was a leak coming from McErlean's Puma at the end of Stage 5.

Jon Armstrong, Takamoto Katsuta and Martins Sesks complete the top 10 while the first one had a brief moment over a crest in Stage 5.

Dani Sordo was the third fastest driver and did the 1-2-3 for Hyundai Motorsport in Stage 5, but he was forced to retire in SS7 as he turned into a right-hander carrying too much speed and hitting a concrete post in the overgrowth next to the stage.
