Latvala hopeful to have solved issues from Rally Estonia 2020

Jari-Matti Latvala is being optimistic that Toyota have fixed the issues with the car that its drivers faced with at last year's Rally Estonia.

The Japanese team had a bad preparation ahead of last year's Rally Estonia as its drivers tested in different conditions in comparison with the conditions they faced and as a result of that all the three drivers struggled to find a good rythm with Yaris WRC on the fast gravel stages of this event.

Sebastien Ogier finished third last year with Elfyn Evans and Kalle Rovanpera having been on fourth and fifth position respectively.

"Last year the drivers were not 100 per cent satisfied with the car in Estonia," said Latvala.

"There were more technical places on the route for last year’s event – more than had been expected.

"They were used to bring down the speeds.

"Last year was a surprise for us, we didn’t expect that.

"We tested a lot on the fast roads and this meant some of those smaller roads were difficult and we were not at the level we were supposed to be.

"We feel we have made good steps with the car.

"The drivers seem happy after the test and this is good for the confidence ahead of the event.

"I hope we have fixed everything from last year and we can go over there and challenge."
