Sordo parts ways with Rozada for the rest of 2021

Dani Sordo announced today that he ends his co-operation with Borja Rozada for the rest of this season having already found his new co-driver for this season.

Sordo chose Rozada as the replacement of his former co-driver, Carlos del Barrio, and they competed together in three events this year (Portugal, Sardinia and Safari Rally Kenya).

However, the Spaniard driver did not take the results that expected as he finished outside the top ten at Rally Sardinia and at Safari Rally Kenya while he achieved only to finish second at Rally Portugal.

The new co-driver for Sordo is named Candido Carrera who is very experienced as he has so far 267 total starts in his rallying career.

It is must be mentioned that Carrera is not the first time that he will be alongside Sordo as both of them had tested for Rallye Monte Carlo with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC.

"I am grateful to Borja for his dedication and professionalism", said Sordo.

"He has shown me to be a great co-driver inside and outside the car, but, unfortunately, despite the enormous work that the two of us have done to understand each other one hundred percent, the understanding my marks on the stages have not been perfect.

"I hope to connect with Cándido Carrera as soon as possible and be able to celebrate great successes together this year".
