Rally Spain - 2nd Day - 1st Loop: Neuville extends his lead over Evans



At the end of the morning loop of the second day, Thierry Neuville remains in the top of Rally Spain's overall classification with Elfyn Evans and Sebastien Ogier following.


Thierry Neuville remains in the first position overall setting the fastest time in Stage 7, 8 and 9, therefore he extended his gap from the second position. However, he reported understeer at the end of Stage 9.


Elfyn Evans compes right behind Neuville and he was slower than the Belgian driver with their gap being from 0,7 to 9 seconds.


Sebastien Ogier completes the top three and he six seconds in the last stage of the morning loop despite the fact that he was faster than fourth Sordo in Stage 7 and 8.


Sordo remains fourth overall, but he decreased his gap over Ogier in Stage 9. In fact their gap is from 6,3 to 0,2 seconds.


Kalle Rovanpera is fifth overall and he suffered from a puncture in Stage 8 while he had a big moment in Stage 9 with saying nothing about this incident.


Adrien Fourmaux is in sixth position and he impressed in Stage 8 as he set the second fastest time there.


Oliver Solberg and Nil Solans are in seventh and in eitght position overall respectively.


Solans mentioned at the end of Stage 7 that he did some changes to the anti-roll bars and to the springs of his i20 and he was happier with the behavior of his car.


Gus Greensmith dropped from seventh to ninth position as he suffered from a puncture in Stage 9 where he had to stop to change the wheel. He dropped one minute in this stage.


Takamoto Katsuta restarted today under the regulations of Rally2 following by his crash in Stage 1 where he was forced to retire due to front left suspension damage.


Ott Tanak was forced to retire from the rest of Rally Spain as Hyundai mechanics were not able to repair his i20 due to chassis damage which was caused by his crash in Stage 4.
