FIA in no rush to confirm the new rally director role

The FIA president deputy sport, Robert Reid, says that FIA is in no hurry to decide who will take over the new rally director position after Yves Matton's departure.

At the end of 2021, FIA was in elections for the new FIA president and other important positions such as the FIA rally director.

More specifically, Mohammed Ben Sulayem became the new FIA president after Jean Todt's departure while Michele Mouton and Yves Matton left their positions.

"Again it is something to look at", Robert Reid said.

"I spent the whole of last week in Geneva and we are finding out lots of information and were understating the organisation as a leadership team we were all there.

"We need to look at what we need going forward and the type of person we need to lead the rally department going forward.

"I don't think there is any huge rush.

"The championship is starting, all the work that goes into that is starting.

"We need to look at the car for three years time and we need to start looking.

"I don't think there is any immediate rush to go out and look for somebody."
