Hayden Paddon announced today that he will participate in WRC2 category this year and in 2023 with a Hyundai i20N Rally2.
More specifically, he will participate in New Zealand, in Estonia and in Finland whereas he will compete in all events in 2023.
The Kiwi had a WRC program with Hyundai Motorsport from 2014 to 2018, but the Korean team did not renew his contract for 2019 as it chose Andreas Mikkelsen instead of him.
Finally, it must be mentioned that Paddon will have the support of Hyundai New Zealand in his WRC2 campaign which has been supporting him since his early steps in rallying.
"We are back…and back with load of Kiwi flavour!", Paddon wrote on his social media.
"Introducing the Hyundai New Zealand Rally team as we embark on a two year WRC2 campaign with the new Hyundai i20N Rally2.
"Proud to be taking our own engineers, technicians and management along with some support from Europe.
"This year will include selected events for us to get up to speed including Rally Estonia and Finland, before a full WRC2 campaign in 2023.
"Our 2022 campaign will also include WRC Rally of New Zealand.
"A big two years lay ahead and we look forward to sharing it with you".
