Three car brands interested in joining WRC if regulations are changed



According to news report of Motorsport.com, it is understood that three brands are evaluating the fact to join the World Rally Championship if FIA decides to make some major changes in the rules for the future.

More specifically, it is understood that Alpine from Renault Group, Skoda and Stellantis Group are interested in involving in WRC if it goes electric

Abarth, Chrysler, FIAT, Citroen, Peugeot, Opel, Alfa Romeo, DS, Vauxhall, Lancia, Jeep, Dodge and Maserati are the representative car brands of Stellantis Group and, in fact, Opel has created its own rallying championship for electric Corsa.

WRC has currently only two factory car brands as Hyundai and Toyota are fully committed to the rallying championship whereas Ford supports financially M-Sport.

Finally, Lancia and Citroen are the most two successful brands in WRC history with the French brand having departed from the World Rally Championship at the end of 2019.
