Official: Huttunen seals a Puma drive with M-Sport Ford at Rally Finland

M-Sport Ford announces today that Jari Huttunen will drive a Ford Puma Rally1 car at Rally Finland next month.

The young Finn driver joined M-Sport Ford at the end of last year and took part in Rally Monza with the Ford Fiesta Rally2 securing his first WRC2 victory of that season there.

However, he and the British team extended their partnership for a further one year in WRC2 class and, so far, Huttunen has taken part in three events while he will compete with the Rally2 car of the team in Estonia next week.

Next month's Rally Finland will be Huttunen's maiden appearance in the main category of World Rally Championship and will have the opportunity to get a taste of the new Rally1 cars.

"I’m really excited to be doing my home rally in a Puma, it will be a great experience and I’m looking forward to the atmosphere with the fans and everything", Huttunen said.

"It will definitely be challenging on such a fast rally in a car with so much power, but I have a good feeling in the Rally2 already and so I feel we will carry that feeling over to the Puma.

"I’ve really enjoyed working with M-Sport on these past events and I’m starting to feel very at home. "The aim for the weekend will be to learn from the car and try to keep a good rhythm with a steady pace.

"It can be a tricky event but I know it quite well, so let’s see what happens.

"I’m very glad to be given this opportunity by M-Sport so we want to make the most of it".
