How will Rovanpera become 2022 WRC Champion in New Zealand?

Kalle Rovanpera is heading to Rally New Zealand with a big-point advantage over his rivals on the drivers' championship and it is possible for him to become 2022 World Rally Driver Champion next weekend in New Zealand. But how will this happen?

Even though, Ott Tanak has cut his gap from Kalle Rovanpera at the end of Acropolis Rally (their margin is now at 53 points), the last one has many chances to clinch his maiden title in WRC next week. He has to score more than seven points than Tanak in New Zealand (with these seven points he still become WRC Champion for season 2022 despite the fact that he will have equal points with the Hyundai driver if the last one wins and scores the maximum points in the last three races of the year). Thierry Neuville has very tiny chances to continue being a contender for the drivers’ title of 2022 as his gap from KR is at 76 points and must recover 16 points in comparison with Rovanpera. On the other hand, Elfyn Evans has zero chances to keep fighting for the drivers’ championship with his teammate at the end of Rally New Zealand as the Welshman has to recover 29 points next week.

Below, you can read how Rovanpera can become the World Rally Driver Champion of 2022 depending on Tanak’s results in New Zealand.
