Tanak may stay out of WRC in 2023

Ott Tanak reveals that there is a possibility for him not to be in World Rally Championship next year due to family matters despite his contract with Hyundai Motorsport.

The Estonian driver skipped Rally Monza in 2021 due to family matters and it is possible for him not to compete in WRC next season due to this factor. Although he is under contract with Hyundai for 2023 and it is rumored that he will join M-Sport next year, it is possible for Tanak to return in WRC in 2024 and his possible absence from WRC is not related with the results he had this season.

"I haven't decided anything yet", Tanak said.

"I am indeed under contract, but the question is not limited to knowing which team.

"I also have to evaluate if I continue.

"I'm not under pressure to choose, so I can't say when I will make my decision.

"This is not related to the results of this season.

"First I want to see how the situation will unfold in my family during the end of this year.

"Then I will assess whether I should stay with her or continue".
