Katsuta felt a lot of pressure in Japan

The Japanese driver eventually finished in third place overall and the only serious problem he had was when he arrived at the stop line of Stage 18 with a rear left puncture. Despite this incident, he managed to remain ahead of Sebastien Ogier with one stage remaining for the end of Rally Japan. However, it must be mentioned that generally stayed out of trouble throughout the weekend while he had some small moments in Stage 9 as he had big slides towards the end of SS9.

"It is a very special feeling", Katsuta said.

"My target was to get on the podium at my home rally.

"There were tricky conditions on Sunday and on Friday many things happened.

"At some point I was struggling a bit but I managed to get here and that is a huge thanks to the team and all my supporters.

"There was lot of pressure.

"I didn't feel crazy and luckily I felt OK, but I have a team of very good guys around me.
