After the confirmations of Hyundai and Toyota for their driver line-ups, it is rumored that Monster Energy will join World Rally Championship in 2023 and will create its own private team.
According to these rumors, Monster Energy will rent two Ford Pumas Rally1 cars for Oliver Solberg and Ott Tanak who do not have contracts for next year. Petter Solberg and Ken Block will create this team with the first one being the team principal.
Ott Tanak had said after his departure from Hyundai Motorsport that he was looking forward to a new challenge in 2023 whereas Petter Solberg had expressed his desire to create his own team in World Rally Championship two years ago.
Last but not least, it must be mentioned that it is not easy for M-Sport Ford to sign Tanak for 2023 as the team faces budget issues.
