Official: Solberg secures WRC2 campaign with Toksport for 2023

Toksport announced today that Oliver Solberg will be one of its drivers for next season as the team has yet to confirm his teammates.

The Swede driver joined Hyundai Motorsport in 2022 with a partial programme, but the team decided that he will not continue with them next year and announced Dani Sordo for the last three remaining rounds of this year's championship which means that Solberg's WRC campaign finished at the end of Rally New Zealand.

There were rumors that he would drive a Ford Puma Rally1 of M-Sport Ford or would rent this car in 2023 as Petter Solberg and Ken Block wanted to create their own team in World Rally Championship having the support of Monster Energy. However, the youngster tested the new Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 in Monte Carlo on Monday and was impressed by this car. A WRC2 programme was among his options for 2023 and eventually he came to an agreement with Toksport ahead of next year.

"Very happy to announce we'll be driving a brand new Å koda Fabia RS Rally2 with Toksport WRT in 2023", Solberg said.

"Fantastic to have Monster Energy's support as we get ready to fight for the WRC2 championship!

"See you in Monte Carlo"!

Finally, Toskport wrote on social media: "We’re excited to announce Oliver Solberg and Elliott Edmondson will be driving a brand new Å koda Fabia RS Rally2 as part of the team in 2023!

"We’ll first see the pair in Monte Carlo, before they start their WRC2 championship campaign at Rally Sweden"!
