Toyota uncovers 2023 WRC Rally1 contender [+photo]



Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT presented the livery of GR Yaris Rally1 for season 2023 in a special event that was hosted in Japan.

More specifically, this year's livery was revealed at Tokyo Auto Salon today despite the fact that the drivers could not be there as the WRC season starts in Monte Carlo next week. The Japanese team has retained the same colors, but the only noticeable difference is that there is more black color on the front of the Yaris. 

Toyota has confirmed Kalle Rovanpera and Elfyn Evans with a full-time programme this season while Takamoto Katsuta will share the third car with Sebastien Ogier. However, the team will bring four cars in Monte Carlo for the last two drivers while Lorenzo Bertelli will become the first driver who will rent the fourth Yaris as he has confirmed his entry for Rally Sweden. 

Finally, it must be mentioned that the mechanics have made some changes to the 2023 Yaris as there new rear fender bodywork featuring a revised cooling inlet for the car’s hybrid system and they have improved the torque consistency by changing some things to the differential. In addition to these, Other developments include a new specification of engine with a higher output.
