Tanak gives to M-Sport Ford useful feedback on Puma development

The team principal of M-Sport Ford, Richard Millener, says that Ott Tanak offers to the team valuable information on the development of Puma in 2023 admitting that they have never taken these comments from a driver.

The Cumbria-based team has signed Tanak for 2023 season after his premature departure from Hyundai Motorsport at the end of 2022. The Estonian had the chance to spend many hours inside his new car two months ago as he tested the Puma in Greystoke forest which is close to the factory. However, his debut with the team did not go well as he was not able to be close to his rivals and finished fifth overall in Monte Carlo, but he was beaten by Kalle Rovanpera for only 0,6 seconds in Powerstage.

"His feedback of the base car is very good, we just need to work a little bit more on some setups for him which suit him better", Millener said.

"He’s a completely different driver with whom we’ve worked with so far when we’ve been developing and using the car, and we are getting different feedback that we’ve not had before.

"So, you’ve got to react to that.

"Some of it we can probably do with stuff we already have, some of it will go into the longer-term plan for the year of what we approach, which direction we take".
