Katsuta focuses on preparing himself mentally for Portugal

Takamoto Katsuta says that he is fully focusing on Rally Portugal as he tries to prepare himself mentally to push and help Toyota in this event.

Despite the fact that Toyota promoted Takamoto Katsuta this year, Sebastien Ogier has secured a partial programme with the team for 2023 which means that the first one drives the fourth Yaris in some rallies when Ogier has been confirmed to score manufacturers' points for Toyota. So far this season, the Frenchman has participated in two rallies (Rallye Monte Carlo, Rally Mexico) and won both of them while his next outing will be in Croatia next month. As he has already been confirmed for three events, it is expected that Katsuta will take over the third Yaris for Rally de Portugal which will be held on May 11-14.

"The most important thing for me is Portugal", Katsuta said.

"That’s more important for myself and for the team I would say, so I need to prepare well mentally to be able to push in Portugal.

"I just need to spend time building the confidence and getting to the finish in Croatia, then we go to Portugal.

"This is the plan".
