Lappi asks from Hyundai further i20N development after Rovanpera's domination in Portugal

Esapekka Lappi asks from Hyundai to work harder and to develop further the i20N after Kalle Rovanpera's domination in Portugal.
Hyundai Motorsport secured a double podium at Rally de Portugal a week ago with Esapekka Lappi completing the 2-3 for the Koreans as Thierry Neuville lost his place due to turbo issues on Sunday. During this event, the Alzenau-based team won five stages in compared to Toyota drivers who were fastest in eleven stages. It is impressive that Kalle Rovanpera set the fastest time in ten stages and was leading Rally de Portugal since Stage 5 despite the fact that he started second on the road on Friday.
"It was disappointing", Lappi said.

"Kalle was beating us 6-0 all the time.

"Even on Friday, he was not really opening the road but was almost opening the road and still he could do similar times to us.

"Then, with similar road positions, he beat us by 100 per cent.

"That’s a bit disappointing to see that kind of pace from another team.

"I guess it is also showing us that we have a job to do as a team to try and develop the car harder and be better in the future".
