Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT announced that Akio Toyoda will be the the person in charge in Finland as Jari-Matti Latvala will be a competitor on his home event.
The Japanese team gave the opportunity to Latvala to secure one drive with the GR Yaris Rally1 at Rally Finland next week which means that the last one will not able to meet the obligations of his role as a team principal. As a concequence of that, Akio Toyoda, the CEO of Toyota, will replace Latvala, but it will be only for Rally Finland.
"Jari-Matti Latvala will also make an exciting return to the driving seat on his home event in a fourth GR YARIS Rally1 HYBRID at the invitation of TGR-WRT Chairman, Akio Toyoda, who will take on the duties of Team Principal in Finland on Latvala’s behalf", Toyota's press release states.
