Toyota to introduce a power unit upgrade in Estonia

Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT will bring some upgrades to the GR Yaris Rally1 at Rally Estonia with the view of increasing the car performance.

According to Toyota's pre-event press release, the upgrades are related to the power unit that include an updated internal combustion engine. The Japanese team had scheduled tests for its drivers in Finland a week ago and they had the chance to try some new things to the car for Rally Estonia and Rally Finland which are the fastest rallies at the calendar. However, it must be mentioned that Toyota did not follow M-Sport Ford's and Hyundai's plan as these teams competed with Ott Tanak and Teemu Suninen respectively in Louna Eesti with the intention of their getting a better taste of their cars before the start of the eighth WRC round.

Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT will participate with Kalle Rovanpera, Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta in Estonia next week as Sebastien Ogier's partial campaign does not include this event while Jari-Matti Latvala will have the opportunity to drive the fourth Yaris in his home event.
