Latvala's first impression with the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 concept

The team principal of Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT, Jari-Matti Latvala, shares his first impression with the GR Yaris Rally2 concept car saying that he is looking forward to driving it again.

The Finn participated in Rally Hokkaido, a round of Japanese championship, a week ago and had Juho Hanninen as his co-driver for this event. JML drove the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 concept car there for the first time with the intention of understanding the car behavior on a rally like this. He and Hanninen won Rally Hokkaido of 2023 and finished ahead of Takamoto Katsuta's father, Norihiko Katsuta, who drove the same car as Latvala. Finally, it must be mentioned that JML missed a WRC round for a second time in a row as he had to be in Japan for this event, therefore he was absent from Acropolis Rally and Kaj Lindstrom took over his team principal duties.

"On the rally, there was some Tarmac, some technical gravel roads and some faster places and I felt very comfortable in the car", Latvala said.

"This is something that’s so important for the customers for this car – it’s easy to feel comfortable, confident and quick.

"The engine is giving a lot of torque, which makes it very driveable and with a lot of suspension travel, it goes over the bumps very well – it feels stable and strong.

"I’m looking forward to driving again".
