Ogier hands a time penalty after Friday, but keeps his second place

The stewards of Rally Japan and FIA gave to Sebastien Ogier a time penalty after the end of Friday, but continues to be in front of Kalle Rovanpera on the classification.

Sebastien Ogier was in third overall at the end of Stage 5, but he gained one position after Thierry Neuville's retirement in Stage 6 as the last one went off the road and it was impossible for him to continue. As a consequence of that, Toyota was at the top three positions on the overall classification after the end of Stage 8 where the third Rovanpera was behind Ogier for almost 76 seconds. However, the Frenchman left six minutes late from the service, therefore the stewards of Rally Japan and FIA gave to him and Vincent Landais a one-minute time penalty, but the crew holds his second place. After this time penalty, Rovanpera is much closer to Ogier and will start on Saturday with a 16-second disadvantage over his teammate.
