Bouffier secures a Toyota Rally2 drive for Rallye Monte Carlo 2024

Bryan Bouffier confirmed today that he will drive the new Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 in Monte Carlo making his WRC return after six years.

The French driver had competed as a privateer at the main category of World Rally Championship in the past and had the chance to get behind the wheel of four different cars (Citroen DS3 WRC, Ford Fiesta RS WRC, Hyundai i20 WRC, Ford Fiesta WRC) while he did many outings in WRC2 class with Ford Fiesta R5 and Citroen DS3 R5. 2018 was the last year that he took part in two WRC rounds (Rallye Monte Carlo, Tour de Corse) and rented a Ford Fiesta WRC from M-Sport.

In 2024, Toyota Gazoo Racing will join the support WRC category, but they will not run a factory team as they want to focus on defending their manufacturer title, and will provide the new GR Yaris Rally2 cars to customers. It is rumored that Toksport will take over Toyota's team in WRC2 class, as Skoda Motorsport wants to return as a factory team next year, while the Japanese team announced that there will be five Rally2 cars in Monte Carlo next month with Bryan Bouffier having already filled the one seat.

"It is with great pleasure that I will be departing from Monte Carlo 2024", Bouffier said.

"It will be a one shot with this brand new Toyota Yaris, managed by the ERACE WRT team, made up of professionals and motorsport buddies I have worked with in the past.

"Happy holidays to all.

"I am so glad to take part of Monte Carlo Rally with the brand new Toyota Yaris.

"The car will be managed by ERACE WRT, where lot of friends and experienced poeple are working.

"Wish of all you a Merry Christmas".
