Rally Paraguay - 1st Day - 2nd Loop: Rovanpera out in front after a chaotic Stage 7

At the end of Friday afternoon, Kalle Rovanpera takes back the lead in Paraguay with Adrien Fourmaux and Ott Tanak following him.

Kalle Rovanpera climbed the order at the end of Stage 7 when his rival, Adrien Fourmaux, got a front right puncture on the penultimate stage of Friday.

Despite his puncture, Fourmaux is second overall and is just 7,1 seconds behind Rovanpera. Furthermore, it must be mentioned that Fourmaux got another puncture in Stage 5, but he was near the end, so he did not lose his first place.

Ott Tanak gained three places in total and completes the 2-3 for Hyundai Motorsport. In fact, the Estonian moved up from sixth to fourth overall and was 1,4 seconds behind the third Pajari at the end of Stage 5, but eventually he overtook the last one at the end of Stage 6.

Sebastien Ogier also gained three places on Friday afternoon and was the fastest driver in SS5, SS7 and SS8.

Elfyn Evans remains fifth overall since the end of Friday morning and it was difficult for him to find grip in order to push for a greater road position tomorrow.

Thierry Neuville dropped from fourth to sixth overall at the end of Stage 7 as he overshot a junction near the end. However, he managed to overtake Evans on the classification at the end of Stage 6.

Josh McErlean is now in seventh position overall and stayed out of trouble throughout the afternoon.

Sami Pajari lost five places and is now eighth as he stopped to change a wheel in Stage 7.

Gregoire Munster is still outside the top ten and had a bad landing in Stage 5 resulting in losing the front splitter and the rear wing.

Takamoto Katsuta was forced to retire in Stage 7 when he clipped a bank on both sides of his Yaris.
