It is believed that Ott Tanak will return back to Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT for the 2026 WRC season.
Kalle Rovanpera announced earlier this month that the 2025 season will be his last in World Rally Championship as he wants to chase his dream at track racing. This means that Toyota has one seat available for 2026 as it is tipped that Sami Pajari, Sebastien Ogier, Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta have extended their contracts with the Japanese car brand. The first rumors supported that Oliver Solberg may replace Rovanpera next year, but now it is tipped that Ott Tanak may make his return back to Toyota since 2019 when he won his first WRC title with the team. It is being supported that both Thierry Neuville and Adrien Fourmaux will continue driving the Hyundai i20N Rally1 in 2026. Had Tanak will go Toyota, then Solberg may sign a contact with Hyundai for 2026 as the young Swede impressed up with his performance this year and is open to discuss with each WRC team. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that Toyota may announce its drivers for the 2026 WRC season after Rally Japan and more specifically on November 10.
