At the end of Thursday, Oliver Solberg is leading Rallye Monte Carlo with Elfyn Evans and Sebastien Ogier following him.
Oliver Solberg stole the lead from Elfyn Evans at the end of Stage 2 as he was the fastest driver there.
Elfyn Evans slipped behind Solberg at the second place as he lost time in Stage 2 compared to the last one. However, he set the fastest time in Stage 1 and was leading Rallye Monte Carlo after the opening stage of the race, but he dropped more seconds on the last section of Stage 3 due to visibility issues which were caused by the fog.
Sebastien Ogier was not confident to push due to the Monte Carlo conditions and to his tyres, but he managed to get some positions back in Stage 3 and to climb to third overall as he was the fastest driver there.
Thierry Neuville completes the top four and had a contact with the left side of his i20N after his facing an understeer and using the handbrake.
Jon Armstrong was at the third position as he was the third-fastest driver in Stage 2, but he dropped to fifth. However, Stage 3 was red flagged when he and Hayden Paddon were into the stage, so they will receive notional times. Moreover, the Irish driver lost the car and touched a bank with the left side of his Puma in while he suffered from a front right puncture. Finally, Armstrong went off the road in Stage 3 when he was driver at road mode.
Adrien Fourmaux does the 4-6 for Hyundai Motorsport while he lost one place in Stage 3 when he went off the road just three corners before the end. Moreover, he had a spin in Stage 2.
Takamoto Katsuta and Hayden Paddon complete the top 8.
Paddon moves ahead of Munster on the classification as the M-Sport driver dropped more than two minutes in Stage 3 as he had no power steering since Stage 2. Muster is outside the top ten at the end of Thursday.
Sami Pajari was forced to retire as he hit a bridge and damaged the rear left suspension in Stage 2.
Josh McErlean was forced to stop 5.5 Km into Stage 2 as he went off the road.
Ogier, Evans and Armstrong were the only WRC driver who selected the super soft compound tyre as the rest chose the snow tyre.
