Hyundai Motorsport to finalize its WRC2 driver line-up for 2022 in the next days

The deputy team principal of Hyundai Motorsport, Julien Moncet, reveals that his team is currently reviewing the available drivers and will decide the WRC2 line-up for this season soon.

The Korean squad did not participate in Rallye Monte Carlo in WRC2 category neither in the upcoming Rally Sweden.

Jari Huttunen, former WRC2 driver of Hyundai Motorsport, has signed a contract with M-Sport Ford this year and his first appearance for 2022 will be at Rally Sweden.

In addition, Teemu Suninen is linked to join Hyundai in 2022 as a WRC2 driver as he did one outing with the i20N Rally2 in Spain last season.

Finally, it must be mentioned that the two-time Spanish Champion, Pepe Lopez, was close to come to an agreement with Hyundai late last year for a WRC2 outing, but eventually this did not happen.

"Rally2 is very important for us", Moncet said.

"We will come with our full program in the next few days.

"But we will continue.

"This we are reviewing, all the contracts at the moment.

"We will get answers soon".
