M-Sport Ford is in discussions with Solberg for 2023

The team boss of M-Sport Ford, Malcolm Wilson, has confirmed that his team is in talks with Oliver Solberg for next year.

Hyundai Motorsport decided to part ways with Solberg for 2023 which means that the youngster is out of contract ahead of next season and is looking for his options with the view of remaining in World Rally Championship.

Solberg's season was over after the end of Rally New Zealand as Dani Sordo was confirmed by Hyundai for Rally Spain and Rally Japan and his best result for 2022 was the fourth place overall at Ypres Rally two months ago which was his best personnel finish as well in WRC.

"We’re interested to talk to Oliver and we have talked already – I met him after he came back from New Zealand", Wilson said.

"Obviously, there would have to be a commercial aspect to any deal for next year.

"We talked about him coming here a couple of years ago".
