Lappi may join Hyundai next year

According to DirtFish.com, it is possible for Esapekka Lappi to drive a Hyundai i20N Rally1 in 2023 and the agreement may be done this week.

Hyundai Motorsport has two available seats for next season after Ott Tanak's and Oliver Solberg's departure from the team, therefore they are looking to finalise their driver line-up.

Andreas Mikkelsen is likely to return to Hyundai for 2023 while the team has already contacted with Kris Meeke. Apart from these two drivers, it is rumored that Lappi is very close to reach an agreement with the Alzenau team as DirtFish mentions that the Finn remained in Finland this week with the view of testing the i20N Rally1 despite the fact that he scheduled to travel to Japan for the final round of this year's championship.

Finally, it must be mentioned that Lappi shared the third Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 with Sebastien Ogier this season and said that he did not have any problem to have a part-time programme next year.
