Rally Sardinia - Shakedown: Hyundai duo dominates in SD stage as Lappi set the pace

At the end of the Shakedown session of Rally Italia Sardegna, Esapekka Lappi was the fastest driver on this stage with the Thierry Neuville and Sebastien Ogier following him.

Esapekka Lappi topped the Shakedown times after his third pass through this stage and was faster than his teammate Thierry Neuville for six tenths of a second.

The Belgian driver completes the 1-2 for Hyundai Motorsport and has already left Rally de Portugal behind him where he finished fifth overall and faced turbo issues with his i20N on the final day of this rally.

Sebastien Ogier and Pierre-Louis Loubet are in third place and set an identical time in Loiri Porto San Paolo. However, the eight-time World Rally Champion was quicker than Loubet for some thousandths of a second, therefore the last one is fourth on Shakedown standings.

Dani Sordo completes the top five and left the championship leader Kalle Rovanpera behind for only two tenths of a second.

Takamoto Katsuta comes right behind his Finn teammate for 0,1 seconds and will not score points for the manufacturers' championship in this event as he will drive the fourth Yaris in Sardinia and Toyota chose Ogier to help them on their fight with Hyundai.

Ott Tanak and Elfyn Evans are eighth and ninth overall respectively.
