Adrien Fourmaux confirmed today that he will get behind the wheel of the Ford Puma Rally1 at Rally Japan which means that his WRC2 campaign will end at Central European Rally next week.
The Frenchman had the chance to drive the Rally1 car of M-Sport Ford in 2022 as he had a contract with the Malcolm Wilson's team for that season, but he skipped Acropolis Rally following his crash at Ypres Rally while he did not have the chance to take part at Rally Japan a year ago due to logistics problems. However, M-Sport Ford offered him a WRC2 programme for 2023 and he was very close to win Rally Italia Sardegna, but eventually Andreas Mikkelsen won this event after Fourmaux's car got stuck in the mud due to the fact that he had a slide. Fourmaux is currently in sixth place overall on the WRC2 standings and his final appearance with the Fiesta MKII Rally1 will be at Central European Rally next week while he will join Ott Tanak on the final round of this year's championship.
"Very proud to tell you we are back in Rally1 for next Rally Japan that we will discover!", Fourmaux said.
"Thanks to patience, rigour and perseverance, all the efforts made with Alex until now are rewarded by the best gift we could have asked for to close 2023's season".
