Tanak to test Hyundai i20N Rally1 this month

Ott Tanak says that December will be a busy month for him, as he will get behind the wheel of the i20N Rally1 after a year, while he has already set high goals for 2024 which are the wins.

The Estonian driver left Hyundai Motorsport at the end of last year which means that he drove the 2022-speculation i20N Rally1 in all surfaces, but the Koreans have developed further the car and brought many upgrades during that season. He announced his departure from M-Sport Ford after his win at Rally Chile two months ago as he decided to drive again for the Alzenau-based team in 2024 due to Cyril Abiteboul's determination to lead Hyundai back to the winning days. It is unknown when Tanak and Martin Jarveoja will get behind the wheel of the i20N for their test, but for sure their test programme will be located on the roads of Alps as Rallye Monte Carlo is about to start on January 25th.

"We will be quite busy, so there will be quite a bit to do in December", Tanak said.

"It is a car I have been in before so I should know it a bit, but I definitely need to refresh myself and also I have some work to do to be ready for next year.

"The expectations won’t be any less and obviously it seems that Cyril is a strong leader so he doesn’t expect anything less than the win, so we definitely need to deliver".
