At the end of Friday, Sebastien Ogier managed to keep his lead over Kalle Rovanpera with Elfyn Evans following them.
Sebastien Ogier remains the rally leader in Central Europe, but he is only 0,6 seconds ahead of the second Kalle Rovanpera.
Rovanpera set the fastest time on the first two afternoon stages of Friday and cut Ogier's lead to 0,3 seconds at the end of Stage 7.
Elfyn Evans does the 1-2-3 for Toyota Gazoo Racing and was the fastest driver in Stage 8 while he stole Ott Tanak's third place at the end of SS7.
Tanak slipped behind Evans for 1,5 seconds at the end of Stage 7, but their gap is at 3,3 seconds at the end of Friday.
Takamoto Katsuta completes the top five and will chase both Evans and Tanak tomorrow as his gap from Tanak is at 2,9 seconds.
Adrien Fourmaux is still sixth overall and is ahead of Sami Pajari for 9,9 seconds.
Thierry Neuville could not able to recover and keeps the eighth place on the overall classification while he dropped many seconds in Stage 6 as the bonnet of his i20N was open on the right side. Moreover, the Belgian had an overshoot in Stage 8.
Josh McErlean completes the top nine and Friday afternoon was a learning process for him.
