Rally Islas Canarias - 3rd Day - 1st Loop: Solberg reels in first Ogier as Evans passes Pajari again

At the end of Saturday morning, Sebastien Ogier remains the rally leader at Islas Canarias with Oliver Solberg and Elfyn Evans following him.

Sebastien Ogier was slower than Oliver Solberg and Elfyn Evans on the first two Saturday stages, but he responded in Stage 11 by setting the second-fastest time in SS11. In fact, the French driver was beaten by Solberg for 0,1 seconds in SS11.

Oliver Solberg comes right behind Ogier for 5,3 seconds and was the fastest driver on the final stage of Saturday morning.

Elfyn Evans started his day from the fourth position as Sami Pajari passed the first one on the superspecial stage which was held on Friday. However, the Welshman managed to retake the third position at the end of Stage 9 as he was the fastest driver in SS9 and SS10.

Sami Pajari lost slipped behind Evans for 3,5 seconds at the end of Stage 9 and was not able to match his teammate on Saturday morning which means that their gap is at 25,8 seconds before the start of the second loop of Saturday.

Takamoto Katsuta keeps the fifth place on the overall classification, but he is now 5,8 seconds behind the fourth Pajari despite the fact that the Japanese star made a mistake in Stage 11 when he did two donuts instead of one. Also, it must be mentioned that Pajari was in front of Katsuta for 6,5 seconds at the end of Stage 10, but the last one managed to be 0,7 seconds faster than Pajari in SS11 despite his mistake.

Adrien Fourmaux overtook Dani Sordo on the classification at the end of Stage 9 and is now sixth overall.

Sordo is not the top driver for Hyundai Motorsport anymore as he lost his sixth position over Fourmaux for 6 seconds in Stage 9.

Thierry Neuville, Josh McErlean and Jon Armstrong complete the top ten.
