Rally Islas Canarias - 3rd Day - 2nd Loop: Solberg cuts Ogier's lead as Armstrong had an off-road excursion

At the end of Saturday afternoon, Sebastien Ogier still tops the overall classification at Rally Islas Canarias with Oliver Solberg and Elfyn Evans following him.

Sebastien Ogier remains the rally lead at Islas Canarias and set an identical time with Oliver Solberg in Stage 13.

Oliver Solberg follows the nine-time WRC Champion for 3,8 seconds and was the fastest driver in Stage 14. The young Sweden was able to cut Ogier's lead by 1,4 seconds at the end of SS14.

Elfyn Evans was the fastest driver in Stage 12 and was behind Solberg for 12,3 seconds, but now their gap has been extended to 18,1 seconds with four stages remaining until the end of the fifth WRC round.

Sami Pajari was able to retain his fourth position on Saturday afternoon and to keep Takamoto Katsuta behind for 10,4 seconds.

Adrien Fourmaux remains the leading driver for Hyundai Motorsport, as he sits in sixth position, and managed to increase his gap from the seventh Dani Sordo.

Thierry Neuville closed the gap from his teammate Sordo as the Belgian is just two seconds behind Sordo.

Josh McErlean and Yohan Rossel complete the top ten.

Jon Armstrong was tenth overall despite the intercom issues in Stage 12 which were caused by the fact that he changed his old helmet with a new one at the midday service. He dropped to outside the top ten at the end of Stage 14 as he had a huge moment there. In fact, he ran wide and went off the road 26Km into SS14 and his Ford Puma was stuck for one minute and 45 seconds. The spectators helped him and Shane Byrne to return back to the road. Their Puma was heavily damaged on the front side.
