Rally Portugal - 2nd Day - 1st Loop: Fourmaux climbs the order, Neuville stops Pajari's charge

At the end of Friday morning, Adrien Fourmaux is the new leader of Rally Portugal with Sami Pajari and Sebastien Ogier following him.

Adrien Fourmaux grabbed the lead from Oliver Solberg at the end of Stage 4 which means that he gained one place since Thursday.

Sami Pajari moved up from fifth to second overall at the end of Stage 5 and set the fastest time on the first two stages of Friday morning.

Sebastien Ogier does the 2-3 for Toyota Gazoo Racing and is just three tenths of a second behind Pajari as the Frenchman cut his margin from Pajari in Stage 6.

Two tenths of a second separate the fourth Thierry Neuville from Ogier while the Belgian suffered from understeer and oversteer as he mentioned at the end of SS4. Moreover, it must be mentioned that he dropped to sixth overall at the end of Stage 4, but he managed to earn two places back at the end of the Friday morning loop.

Oliver Solberg dropped from first to fourth overall at the end of Stage 4 and lost one more place after SS6 due to a wrong tyre strategy.

Elfyn Evans follows his teammates for 5,3 seconds and lost three places in Stage 5 as he was third overall at the end of Stage 4 which means that the Welshman is seventh overall.

Dani Sordo, Josh McErlean and Jon Armstrong complete the top ten.

Sordo overshot a junction 17Km into Stage 5 as he braked and his i20N went straight.

Martins Sesks is in eleventh position overall as he could not find the pace with his Ford Puma Rally1 to push for a better result.
