Rally Portugal - 4th Day: Neuville delivers the first win for Hyundai in 2026 as Ogier punctures



At the end of Sunday, Thierry Neuville is the winner of this year's Rally Portugal with Oliver Solberg and Elfyn Evans following him.

Thierry Neuville claims his first win of the season and was at the top of the overall classification at the end of Stage 22 which was the penultimate stage of the rally.

Oliver Solberg and Elfyn Evans gained two positions after SS22 after their teammates' problems.

Solberg finished second overall as the top driver for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT and topped the SuperSunday standings.

Evans does the 2-3 for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT and went into a bank in Stage 21.

Adrien Fourmaux is in fourth place overall and was the fastest driver in Stage 22 while he scored the 5 bonus points in Powerstage.

Takamoto Katsuta moved up from seventh to fifth overall and got a puncture in Stage 21.

Sebastien Ogier dropped from first to sixth overall and lost five places in Stage 22 as he stopped to change a rear right puncture resulting in losing more than one minute.

Sami Pajari lost the chance to finish at the podium positions for one more time as he suffered from a puncture in Stage 22 resulting in stopping in order to change a wheel.

Dani Sordo, Martins Sesks and Teemu Suninen complete the top 10.

Sordo had to slow down in Stage 20 as he tried to avoid a cow 20Km into SS20.

Josh McErlean restarted under the SuperRally regulations today following his accident in Stage 19 on Saturday where he went straight into a wall and samaged the rear right suspension of his Ford Puma Rally1. He managed to set the second-fastest time and to be the top Rally1 driver in Stage 21 as Robert Virves claimed the stage win in SS21. Last but not least, the Irishman clipped a bank 1,5Km into SS20 while he changed a front right puncture in Stage 23.

Jon Armstrong's car was not fixed by the M-Sport Ford mechanics after his crash in Stage 15 which means that he retired.
