Rally Sardinia - 3rd Day - 1st Loop: Solberg's outstanding pace puts him ahead of Neuville as Fourmaux punctures

At the end of Saturday morning, Oliver Solberg steals the first place from Thierry Neuville with Sebastien Ogier following him.

Oliver Solberg climbs the order as he passed Thierry Neuville on the overall classification after SS10. The Swede driver is the new rally leader in Sardinia and managed to cut Neuville's lead from 14,4 to 3,3 seconds after SS9 while he set the fastest time in Stages 9 and 10. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that he gained one position and moved up to second after the end of Stage 8.

Thierry Neuville slipped behind the superb Solberg for 2,7 seconds at the end of Stage 10 despite his efforts to retain his rally lead. The 2024 WRC Champion was the fastest driver in Stage 8 and was leading Rally Sardinia over Solberg for 14,4 seconds after Adrien Fourmaux's puncture.

Sebastien Ogier does the 2-3 for Toyota Gazoo Racing which means that he managed to get one position this morning and to complete the loop at third overall.

Adrien Fourmaux was just 0,4 seconds behind the first Neuville at the end of Friday, but the Frenchman got a front left puncture and lost almost one minute in Stage 8 resulting in dropping from second to fifth overall. However, he responded back and overtook Sami Pajari for 3,8 seconds on the classification and is now fourth while he will try to chase down Ogier for the third place as their gap is at 17,4 seconds.

Sami Pajari still holds the fifth place of Rally Sardinia, but he moved up to fourth place after the end of Stage 8 due to Fourmaux's puncture.

Elfyn Evans retains the sixth place and his target is to drive safely in order to secure his first title in World Rally Championship.

Josh McErlean had a half spin in order to avoid a tree in Stage 10, but he remains the highest-placed driver for M-Sport Ford as he is seventh.

Takamoto Katsuta passed Jon Armstrong for the eighth place at the end of Stage 8 while Martins Sesks completes the top 10.

Dani Sordo was forced to retire before the start of Stage 9 as he had reported pain in his side and back from an impact suffered in Shakedown on Thursday.
